Cambridge Mental Health Resource Centre Cam Resource

Welcome to Cam Resource Online

We are a social inclusion team with three distinct but complementary directions to our work:
We develop and sustain partnerships with a wide range of community providers in education, work, the arts and leisure. Collaborative working allows us to develop new initiatives.
We are developing a community-based resource known as the Cambridge Resource Centre.
We work with individuals recovering from mental health problems to identify the changes they want to make in their lives and offer support to help make it happen.

Art Exhibitions

This is a new initiative to give local artists an opportunity to meet, exhibit and sell their artwork in our café. We take a 15% commission on all work sold, but we also welcome artwork not for sale.

City Wakes update

The City Wakes, a mullti-media tribute to the art and music of Syd Barrett is preparing for a range of performances in Cambridge in October. As part of this we are in the process setting up a course in Stage Design and Construction to create our live sets that will combine screen-printed images, projections and 3D modelling as well as some quirky musical instruments!

The course will be run by Stephen Pyle and Linton Bocock. Stephen Pyle used to play drums with Syd Barrett and runs a Sculpture and Construction Studio, www.stephenpylestudio.com. Linton Bocock trained as a puppeteer and puppet maker and worked for a number of professional companies including Spitting Image and the Henson Organisation (The Muppet People).

Anyone for Social Networking and Website Design?

The Resource Centre in collaboration with Escape Artists are devising a course looking at social networking (think Facebook, My Space or Friends Reunited!) and website design.
Social isolation is a consistent feature for people who have experienced a complex mental illness. Loss of self-esteem and possible losses of previous social networks compound feelings of isolation and loneliness.
The course will run from our internet café.
