Exploring Choices
Wed 14th May - Wed 16th July 2008
The next Exploring Choices programme starts on Wednesday 14th May at 11.00 am at the
Resource Centre. Twelve places are available. This programme works best for service
users who are looking to move their lives forward, and would benefit from extra support to manage
that change.
After years of running this programme, we find that it works better for people who
- are looking for ways to improve their own well being;
- are unsure as to what relevant training, learning and work opportunities are available in the community;
- are considering moving their lives forward, but are unsure in which direction.
What we provide
- a warm welcoming and safe learning environment;
- confidentiality which is agreed by the group;
- practical tools and guidelines to help people make informed and sustainable choices;
- local providers running sessions and giving up-to-date information on how to access community provision.
Who can benefit from the programme
We welcome service users who
- are reliable and willing to turn up on time;
- have good self-awareness and interpersonal skills;
- can show commitment to attend an 11-week course;
- can attend independently - although we can provide support to get to the Resource Centre;
- can concentrate and absorb information;
- can respond appropriately in sessions (cognitive ability).
Our turnaround time is very short as we are running the interviews on Wed 30th April or
Friday 2nd May (please see registration form below for times).
Regrettably, this course will not run if there are insufficient applicants.
The Course Co-ordinators are Miny Solar and Christina Beamish.
